Join us for a special walk around the neighbourhood with forager Pia Castleton. We'll be walking around Shieldfield looking at the many plants that can be made into delicious dishes and learning more about them. Then we will share what we have found over a cup of tea.
We will walk from 10:00-11:30, and then we'll sit with a cuppa from 11:30-12:30.
Free but book a place by contacting Ken, our ‘Community Bee’, on 07761 909 669 or by emailing Julia on julia@dwellbeingshieldfield.org.uk
About Pia Castleton
Pia Castleton is a forager and an experienced permaculture designer. Pia has run supperclubs and food events with food ethics as the focus of her menus. Foraging produce ethically has been a part of her environmental ethos in the kitchen. Pia also created the project 'Grow to Glow', making small batch healing balms using local beeswax and plants she gathers locally to her home in Blackhall Mill. Having kept allotments since her teens, Pia has always been passionate about plants and their stories. Pia hopes to inspire others to 'use edges and value the marginal', through sharing her knowledge of plants around us and how she uses some of them herself.
