Rejoice
A poem about the Summer Solstice by Sharon Bousfield.
Cold and hard, the ground like stone
with wind that chilled us to the bone
Those winter days gradually fade away
as do those clouds of grey
Spring has been, and now its gone
Our clocks went forward, increased by one
The ground is woken by the sun. To watch
all it’s changes it can be fun
With many colours at different stages
Snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils, and no
more snow top covered hills
We can see the changes all around, yet we
do not hear a sound
It’s summer at last, the days are longer,
with Vitamin D we all feel stronger
Please remember to just stop and think
The earth can change as quick as a blink
Be thankful for all the seasons. They’re all
there for different reasons
Summer solstice is here at last
Let us all rejoice at this time of rebirth. Give
our thanks to the earth
For all its wonders for us to share. We give
our thanks with love and care
